Rock Addiction Review

RockAddiction

A bad boy wrapped in a sexy, muscled, grown-up package might be worth a little risk…

Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media’s harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life. No fame. No impropriety. No pain. Then she meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like whiskey and sin, and a touch that could become an addiction.
A one-night stand with the hottest rock star on the planet, that’s all it was meant to be…

Fox promises scorching heat and dangerous pleasure, coaxing Molly to extend their one-night stand into a one-month fling. After that, he’ll be gone forever, his life never again intersecting with her own. Sex and sin and sensual indulgence, all with an expiration date. No ties, no regrets. Too late, Molly realizes it isn’t only her body that’s become addicted to Fox, but her heart…

– Nalini Singh’s Website

Hello fellow literature lovers!

Now, I’m sure that most of you know how much I love Nalini Singh (for our first-timers, it’s a lot). Near the end of the summer, Ms. Singh surprised us all with an announcement of a brand-new series, with the first book coming out on September 9th.

Of course, I bought the book on my e-reader the instant it came out. I do usually prefer paranormal romance, but that’s not to say that I don’t have a decent amount of contemporary on my bookshelf. And, of course, when a reviewer described the hero, Fox, as “Hawke and Judd and Dimitri rolled into a twenty something rock star”, how could I resist? Hawke and Dimitri are my favourite of Nalini Singh’s heroes, and it’s not like she makes it easy to choose.

That being said, I would read anything that Nalini Singh put out, so it was a no-brainer. I ended up enjoying it more than I expected I would. Fox is still pretty alpha-male, as I have come to expect from these books. He’s brutally honest, sexy, arrogant, and at times, quite overbearing. That being said, he’s also surprisingly sweet, kind, and thoughtful. His fierce protectiveness towards Molly was adorable, and Ms. Singh made me eager for the next books in the Rock Kiss series, seeing as at least some of them will be based on the characters we were introduced to in the first book. She’s already released the first novella in the series, and is working on the second full-length book.

I don’t want to give away spoilers, so just go read the book already?

PS be on the lookout for the next book in the Guild Hunter series, Archangel’s Shadows, coming out October 28th. Also coming out on October 28th… Burn for Me, Ilona Andrews’ first book in the Hidden Legacy series.

Keep reading, my friends!
